Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Working title of this dish is “Turkey Day Sweet Potatoes”

I have some profound and introspective thoughts I need to get out this morning, so please forgive all the "i" statements...

This Thanksgiving, I was asked to contribute the sweet potatoes to our family gathering.

Personally, my pallet is not a fan of the sweet and savory combination. I like sweet and I like savory -- just not together.

Nonetheless, I took on the task for others. I could've hemmed and hawed and offerred to make something I'd rather eat instead. Thats not me. I like to be of service and enjoy helping people.

I also have a hunger to be creative in all aspects of work and life, so I approached the dish from a that perspective.

I did not want to do a basic sweet potato casserole. I stumbled upon a recipe for twice baked sweet potatoes. Stopping there would've been easy. I pushed further. I need to add my own twist.

I know I've seen marshmallows on sweet potatoes before and the recipe also called for cinnamon. I remember seeing cinnamon sticks at the grocery store. So I picked up all the ingredients at the store and brought them home.

I asked myself "how can i display the marshmallows along with the cinnamon sticks" without it looking half hazard. I started chopping the sticks into different size pieces and poking the marshmallows with the cinnamon sticks. Nope, that looks stupid. Nope, that doesn't work. Got it! I'll transform them into mini turkeys. Didnt even have to Pinterest it!

I'm calling this "Turkey Day Sweet Potatoes"... okay, I'm still working on the title, ha ha. I'll probably be fleshing out the title on the drive to Hillsboro today.

My appetite for creativity never stops. It shows up all the time. In cooking, in gifting... even in golf.

So many variables at play. From the layout of the hole, to the number of clubs in the bag, to the type of shot that'll get me to the cup faster -- I enjoy using my brain to figure out problems in creative ways.

All that brings me to the following...

If you have a project that could use some creativity, you should reach out to me. Even if the subject matter isn't something I'd personally consume or participate in, my passion for creativity and helping people makes me a great resource to have.

I'm thankful for my friends, family, clients, and having numerous creative outlets in my life.

I will report back with pics after they hit the oven for a second time, along with reviews after dinner.
